Across Exandria™, the most powerful spellcasters are in need of rare ingredients—and it’s up to their loyal animal companions to seek and collect them. In A Familiar Find, you’ll race across magical locations from all corners of the world, gathering the components your caster needs, while outwitting rival familiars who are doing everything they can to slow you down.
So, you’ll have to beware! Competing familiars are lurking nearby, setting traps, calling your bluff, and trying to sabotage your plans. Get crafty and use your wits to keep your strategy hidden, know when to reveal ingredients, and trick your opponents at just the right moments.
A Familiar Find offers quick turns, easy-to-learn rules, and a wealth of surprises that ensures every game is a new adventure. The game includes 84 Arcane Cards and 13 Location options, providing various effects and opportunities. Jump into the game as a fan-favorite familiar from Critical Role Campaigns 1-3, or take your pick of 10 different Familiar Boards, each with cool, unique powers! You'll need smart moves and a sharp eye on your rivals to be the first familiar to snag all the ingredients and help your caster finish their spell.

Overview:
A lighthearted card game designed for up to four participants. Players assume the roles of animal familiars within Exandria™, tasked with seeking out rare spell ingredients. Utilize powerful spells and your own wits to lay traps and disrupt your opponents’ progress. Ten Familiar Character options are available, including Trinket the Bear, Mister, and Pâté de Rolo from Critical Role Campaigns 1-3. To win the game a player has to accumulate three Astral Essence cards or one complete set of Ingredients.

I love this game, it’s so much fun even with just 2 players, and the art is absolutely adorable! It’s really cool to explore familiar Exandrian locations and play as the cute familiars. The instructions are written in a slightly confusing way, but after watching the video tutorial on the Darrington Press website and playing a few rounds, it becomes pretty straightforward. It’s a great addition to our collection too, since it’s a unique game that not everyone has. Highly recommend for board game nights!!

But once we got into the game it was so much fun
I just got the chance to play today with my partner and while the rules sound complicated they are super easy! We played almost 10 rounds today alone and just kept saying how much fun this game is! I can’t wait to play with more people! The art is so cute and beautiful and it’s clear there was a lot of time and effort put into this game.
It was a really pleasant surprise to go into this game and seeing that it's more than meets the eye. Purchased it as a present (from my kid to me) and we have been playing it regularly.
The art is great, the game mechanics is very interesting since it can go deeper if we want by expanding all the way to the tourism mode. It's easy to pick up and we love games that have a bit of deception in it. We've made it a competition to try to trick one another to make the opponents lose more than focusing to win. Maybe we are playing this wrong...
Either way, great purchase. My favourite Darrington Press/Critical Role game so far.
We have not had the chance to play yet, but we have looked at the cards over and over and keep changing which character we want to play. Thank you Travis and the other members of the team fir giving such a wonderful gift!

I played this game with my boyfriend and a friend of ours and we really liked it! It has a great balance between being easy to learn and still having different mechanics that make each game new and fun :) And the artwork is beautiful, overall a big win!

We were one of the first to receive this and played a few 2 player games right away. We started with hhe Family version, and it was challenging enough to stick with it for several games. It is a great balance of strategy and luck. In fact with only 2 players it was Very strategic. My brain was very challenged.
I hope to have a 3 or 4 player game soon. And also Full Game rules.
Absolutely adorable, easy to learn and play, A Familiar Find is one of the best games I've bought for my family. No more awkwardness of shifting rules to scale difficulty on our own, the game has rules and asset accommodation for 2, 3, 4 players to just start. If you need a new game for your family with a really low cost of entry for a lot of fun and replayability? This game is it.
