You get a lot for your money with this set especially compared to D&Ds 3 core books. A great way to learn the mechanics, build characters, and create new worlds.
I’m convinced this is the best TTRPG out there right now, especially for new Players to pick up. I ran a campaign using the QuickStart campaign in Sablewood and it is still going on. Everything works perfectly and is sooo much fun. All the players on my Table were new to TTRPG’s, pick it up really easily and fell in love with it like I did :)
To have something as similar but far different and easy to understand and to have fun mechanics. Even though I only looked through the first few pages not to mention looking through all those cool cards and the amazing races and classes you can choose from. I can't wait to learn what I can from all of the pages of the wonderful book that you guys put together. I am glad to obtain this work of brilliance. And also praise to those who did the art because it is also fabulous. Can't wait to enjoy my first session.
Played one Session with my typical Party. They where all really happy about the system and the options it have them.
All are hyped for more sessions and the upcomming expansion.
I was kept informed at every stage of the delivery process, so I always knew where my package was, and it arrived surprisingly quickly in Hungary from the EU shop. I think this might be the gift I now have to beat, I got it for my partner for his birthday and he was dumbstruck on how beautiful the art is, I'd been digging around and keeping up with Dagarheart since it was talked about but he has no idea the art would hit him as hard as it did. So yeah, best gift ever!
The set is great, but what made the difference for me was the customer service. For a series of unfortunate circumstances, my order took a ton of rain after the delivery and everything was totally unusable. I contacted the assistance asking for a discount to make a second purchase and they offered me a new set for free after sending the damaged one back. In less than 2 weeks I received my new manual without the need of adding a single euro more. Amazing experience!
This is a gamer changer: the value of this package is insane. I was skeptical before actually playing it, despite of the astonishing reviews and videos.
I love Genesys, 4e, 13th Age and Forged in the dark games, which are a great inspiration to this title: the team took those principles up to eleven and pulled out a true “go to” for fantasy games.
I can’t really see any inherent limit. It improves GMing through simple mechanics and I dig the asymmetrical play.
Very nice game building up narrative tension and granting solid crunchy options to those who want them.
Can't say much 'bout the game 'cause i've jet to play it but I can say that the overall product (packaging, ect...) it's really well crafted ...adding a dice set would have been a nice touch
The books came quick. In perfect condition. Just started reading so it will take time to learn in. Too bad there are no dice set.
I’ve been a Game Master for Dungeons and Dragons for several campaigns now, and I can’t count the amount of times I’ve fudged rules or just thrown them out entirely for the sake of the story I was trying to tell with my players. It led to confusion multiple times.
Daggerheart is the answer! I swear they don’t pay me to say that. This core set is literally designed with the STORY first and mechanics to SUPPORT that storytelling, not usurp it. On the daggerheart website there are legions of resources: the custom card creator, the Void playtester, a How to Homebrew Daggerheart manual, and more. They WANT you to make it yours and put the story first.
I ran a one shot with 9 players for my first time and it was messy, but the flexibility of Daggerheart came through and made it so fun. Mechanics like countdowns, environments, and an unyielding focus on letting the players lead the plot ultimately is what did it. So much more fun than a board game.
If you wish DnD had a higher focus on story and doing what a character would do rather than on crunchy rules and rigid combats, THEN THIS IS THE GAME FOR YOU.

I picked this game up because I'm a big fan of Critical Role and based on what I've heard about the game I figured it might fit my group better than 5E.
The book and the cards are extremely well made. The art is beautiful. I can’t wait to play for my party.
Just started reading the book and am very impressed. I am very lucky: Wednesday is our "play" night and for the same group of friends I am their skipper in the summer and their DM (GM now) for the rest of the year. We just finished our summer sailing season and we will be starting with a Daggerheart campaign, replacing D&D; I have already ordered duality dice. The attached picture is the group with our First Place award for the summer sailing season!
Great art on the whole set and the cards are firm without being sharp, if that makes sense. Great tactile feeling to them! The book including entire settings to play Daggerheart in is such a great idea, and very commendable considering they could have included a separate purchasable setting book instead of just including it in the Core set. But they didn't! Its very considerate. I'm excited to try playing this with my group!
