these are so beautifully made. the Flame Dagger is my favorite with its sheen.
They really are beautiful and beautifully made... but letter openers they are not. There is neither a sharp point or a thin enough section to really make them a usable letter opener. They tend to rip open the top of envelopes, not slice them open. Ive tried using them so many different ways, tried the blade, the hooked section, the back of the blade, etc. Its really not great for opening mail. If you just want them as a display item though then they are lovely.
