All sailors fear the tales of Uk’otoa, the all-seeing Great Leviathan beneath the sea. The worst has come to pass—the beast has you in its serpentine clutches. As the toothy maw of Uk’otoa ravages your ship, you’ll have to run, push, and sacrifice others to win!

Uk’otoa is the first official board game developed by the Darrington Press team! Brace yourself for a fast-paced, enthralling tactical game of semi-cooperative card play and thrilling nautical adventure from the world of Exandria™.

Gameplay:

Hexes are placed on the board to represent the wreckage of a destroyed ship, and are progressively removed as they are consumed by the dauntless Uk’otoa. Players take on the roles of two factions which they share with their neighboring players, and use cards to best position their two teams to survive. Each card in a player’s hand carries immersive, gorgeous art and easy-to-understand icons depicting the movement it provides.

Great Game

This game was more than I was expecting and a lot of fun. The only thing that I found to be incorrect was the projected play time of 30-45min a game. Perhaps we just like the chaos but our games always went a lot quicker making it easy to replay several times in a short time frame.

fun game, fragile cards

Very fun. I think we played 8 games our first day with a mixed group ages 13-50, with a rotating group of 4 or 5 players (we decided 4 was more fun than 5 because there was more movement). Our only complaint is the cards are already wearing out - they are not built to handle shuffling apparently. De-lamination, tearing at the edges, general wear and tear in a single day of use. That's pretty disappointing.

Absolutely love it, one question though.

Love the game super fun with friends I just had one question. Can tentacles hit over gaps in the boat, it never says in the rules of for instance a tentacle 3 can hit over a gap for 1 and hit the 2nd and 3rd spot! We house rules it both ways but I was curious if it was ever in the rules.
